Wonders of the World (WOW) presents:

Avril Angevine -- A Look at Photography Today

Wednesday, January 7, 2026

2:00 PM

Don Tatzin Community Hall

Lafayette Library and Learning Center

Join popular art lecturer Avril Angevine for a look at photography today. Now that everyone has a smartphone, and millions of (mostly forgettable) images are posted daily, can photography still challenge, engage, delight, and unsettle us? How have visual artists used photography to participate in the postmodern redefinition of art as social engagement and cultural critique?

Learn about new directions in contemporary photography through the work of Vik Muniz, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Zanele Muholi—artists whose work involves new materials, new processes, and new subjects.

The program is free, but registration is required at:

This program is presented by Friends of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center.
