Lamorinda Village is invited to First Friday Forum’s program on January 9, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. featuring Donato Cabrera, Artistic and Music Director of the California Symphony. Cabrera will present “The Role of the Symphony Conductor and Highlights of Former Maestros,” offering an inside look at how conductors shape and interpret music. Through vivid examples, short video clips and live demonstration, Cabrera will illustrate how different conductors lead the same piece—ranging from subtle, precise gestures to full-body, fiery flourishes that bring the music to life. Arrive at 1:00 p.m. to enjoy coffee and cookies before the program begins. The program will take place at the Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church Oak Room, 49 Knox Drive, Lafayette.
