MDV Lunch and Learn: The Return of Peregrine Falcons

Peregrine falcons were nearly extinct in California in the 1970s due to the pesticide DDT, with only two known nesting pairs remaining. Following a ban on DDT and decades of captive breeding programs by researchers, the population rebounded. Today, more than 400 breeding pairs thrive across the state. 

Juan Pablo Galvan of Save Mount Diablo will be giving us a comprehensive presentation on the return of peregrine falcons and the latest updates of the rescue and conservation efforts. It's not to be missed.
