Join us as we embark on the MDV Trails Challenge #5, which is also the last one of the originally planned Trails Challenge trips, on Thursday, 10/22. The trail is 4.7 miles long. Estimated time to finish will be less than two hours.
After this, whoever has completed all five trails challenges can report their record to the East Bay Regional Parks District and receive a Commemorative Pin.
There are two extra trails for those who missed any portion of the previous trails, you can use the two additional trails to qualify you to receive a pin. In addition, you may also add your own trips outside the published Trails Challenge booklet. As long as it reaches 26.2 total miles, you are qualified.
Thanks to Siew Chuah, our Hikers Club leader and Membership Chair, she spent time to understand the Trails Challenge, learn the history of each trail and share with us while we're walking, and, most importantly, planned out all the trail for us to show up and enjoy a good walk together. Thank you, Siew.
Next year, we will start our trails challenge earlier in the year when the weather is cooler. Since we can also plan our own trips outside of the trails listed in the booklet, you are welcome to suggest your favorite trails and we, mostly Siew, will see what we can do to incorporate everyone's favorite trails.
