Wonders of the World (WOW) presents:
Discovering the California Academy of Sciences: Science, Sustainability, and Wonder
Reminder that WOW programs have moved to the first Monday of the month!
There is only one place on Earth with an aquarium, planetarium, rainforest, and natural history museum -- all under one living roof. And it is in the heart of Golden Gate Park. In this talk, Dr. Estefanía Pihen González, Chief of Education & Learning, will explore: Operations and programming across the Academy's natural history museum, aquarium, and planetarium; how Cal Academy is catalyzing sustained stewardship to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss; how the innovative field of Transformative Education is guiding our educational enterprise; and what sets the Academy apart as a premier destination for visitors of all ages and a global model for pairing groundbreaking science with the wonder of a museum visit.
The program is free, but registration is required at: tinyurl.com/wow-nov2026
This program is presented by Friends of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center.
